Dump Trailer Rental in North County San Diego
When the roll-off truck can’t make the placement, this is the answer. A 15 cubic yard, 20,000 lb commercial gooseneck dump trailer on rubber tires, delivered and hauled by us. You never tow it, you never need a CDL, and it goes on driveways, dirt and uneven ground where a standard dumpster truck simply cannot set down. $675, the same as our 15 yard roll-off.

What $675 covers
Flat rate, tax included, delivery and pickup both directions. On longer projects we dump the trailer and bring the same one back rather than swapping containers.

A driveway a roll-off truck couldn’t handle
A contractor had a dumpster booked with one of the large waste companies. When the driver arrived, the driveway was badly uneven with a big hump before it descended. The truck was bottoming out and the driver could not safely place the container, so he left.
The contractor called us. We brought the dump trailer out the next morning, he loaded it fast, and we hauled the first load and brought the trailer straight back for another. He kept it on site and had us dump and return it through the rest of the project. That is the case this trailer exists for: the job where a dumpster is the right idea but the wrong equipment.
Why we started renting dump trailers
▶Will walks through the trailer and why it’s built heavier than the usual rental unit.
When the trailer is the better call
A roll-off dumpster is still the right answer for most jobs. The trailer is for the ones where it isn’t.
Choose the dump trailer when
The driveway is uneven, humped or sloped enough that a roll-off truck bottoms out. The load has to sit on dirt, gravel or a surface you don’t want a steel container dragged across. Access is tight enough that a full-size dumpster truck can’t manoeuvre. Or the project needs the same container emptied and returned repeatedly rather than swapped.
Choose a roll-off dumpster when
The driveway is flat and accessible and you want maximum volume for the money. See roll-off dumpster sizes and pricing from 13 to 40 yards. If the problem is a steep or narrow driveway rather than uneven ground, our hooklift truck can often place a standard container where a conventional roll-off cannot.
This is not a light-duty rental trailer
Most dump trailers in the rental market are rated well below this one, partly because heavier truck-and-trailer combinations bring additional licensing requirements for whoever tows them. We ordered the commercial 20,000 lb version and tow it ourselves with a Ford F-450 dually under a Class A CDL. That means more payload and more safety margin when a contractor loads dense debris, instead of an overloaded light-duty trailer that can’t legally or safely be moved.

Rated to hold the trailer loaded, disconnectedWhy the weight rating is the whole story
Ask anyone who rents dump trailers what goes wrong and you tend to get the same three answers. They all come from the same place, which is a trailer carrying more than it was built for. None of them are theoretical, and all of them land on whoever is standing at the transfer station.
What goes wrong on an under-rated trailer
- Bent frames. Dense debris past the rating deforms a light-duty frame, and once it is out of true the trailer is finished.
- It will not dump. An overloaded box can defeat the hoist cylinder, which means unloading it by hand at the landfill. That is the failure nobody plans for.
- It cannot legally move. Past its GVWR the truck and trailer together are over legal road weight, so the load stays where it is until weight comes off.
How ours is specified
- 20,000 lb GVWR, ordered as a commercial build rather than the lighter unit common in the rental market
- Axles, brakes and suspension matched to the rating, not a heavier box on a lighter chassis
- 17.5 inch commercial wheels on 18-ply tires
- High-capacity front lifting cylinder that empties a dense load cleanly
- Towed by our F-450 under a Class A CDL, so the licensing and the weight math are our problem rather than yours
You never touch a hitch
We deliver it
We tow it in with the F-450 and set it where you need it, including on dirt, gravel and uneven ground. The jack legs hold it loaded once we disconnect, so it stays put for the whole job.You load it
Rear loading access and ramps make it straightforward with wheelbarrows and equipment rather than lifting everything over a high steel wall. Load on your own schedule. We haul, dump and bring it back
On bigger projects this is the real advantage. Rather than swapping containers, we take the same trailer, empty it and return it, as many times as the job needs.

Where it earns its keep
Dump trailer rental FAQ
Do I have to tow it myself?
No. This is a delivered rental. We tow it in with our Ford F-450 and haul it away when you’re done. You don’t need a truck, a hitch, or a CDL. That’s the main difference between this and a self-tow trailer rental.
How is this different from a roll-off dumpster?
It rides on rubber tires instead of being dragged off a steel-railed truck, so it can be placed on driveways, dirt and uneven ground where a roll-off truck can’t safely set down. It also has rear loading access and ramps, and on longer projects we can empty the same trailer and bring it back repeatedly instead of swapping containers.
How much does it hold?
15 cubic yards, with 5-foot sides. The trailer is rated to 20,000 lb, which is heavier than most dump trailers in the rental market, so it handles dense material like concrete and rock rather than topping out on weight long before it’s full.
Can it go on dirt or a sloped driveway?
Usually, yes, and that’s the main reason to choose it. Rubber tires and the trailer’s geometry let us place it on surfaces and grades where a conventional dumpster truck would bottom out or damage the surface. Tell us about the access when you call and we’ll tell you honestly whether it will work.
What does it cost?
$675, the same as our 15 yard roll-off dumpster. Call (866) 345-5646 and we’ll confirm the rental period, what’s included, and how multiple dump-and-return cycles are handled for your project.
What can I put in it?
Construction and demolition debris, concrete, rock, roofing, remodel waste, household junk and yard waste. The floor is upgraded specifically for dense material. Hazardous materials are excluded as they are for any container: paint, solvents, fuel, chemicals, asbestos, batteries and pressurised tanks.
Can you keep it on site for a multi-load project?
Yes, and that’s what it’s best at. We haul the load, dump it and return the same trailer as many times as the project requires. Our first customer did exactly that: loaded it, had us dump it, and kept going.
