Who called us: a contractor and ADU builder needing demo cleanup and permit-ready recycling documentation in San Diego County.
The situation
A contractor running a construction and non-structural demo needed the debris gone and, just as important, the recycling documentation California’s CALGreen inspections require. On a permitted job, hauling the debris off is only half the requirement. If the project cannot show that at least 65% of the construction and demolition waste was diverted from the landfill, the final inspection stalls. Most haulers drop a dumpster and disappear; they do not hand you the paperwork the inspector asks for.
What we did
We showed up and cleared the demo debris, concrete, dirt, and mixed construction waste, loading it straight into the truck. To get close to the pile, we pulled a fence panel so we could load right from the street instead of carrying everything the long way. We cut down an oversized pallet on site with tools we keep on the truck, and used the lift gate, which handles two to three tons, to move heavy wheelbarrows of dirt and concrete without straining the crew. Then we detailed the site: raked it down, blew it clean, and walked it checking for nails. Before we left, we documented the recycling through Green Halo, producing the 65%+ diversion record inspectors need.
The outcome
The contractor got a cleared, detailed site in a single visit and, just as valuable, the Green Halo recycling documentation showing the required diversion. That is the piece that keeps a permitted project moving, because the inspection passes instead of stalling on missing paperwork. Fence back in place, site swept, and the compliance record in hand.
Why permit-driven jobs call us
On a permitted build, the debris and the paperwork are one job. We clear construction and non-structural demo, get into tight sites, and hand you the Green Halo recycling documentation that CALGreen inspections require, so the final does not stall on compliance.
