Who called us: a contractor building a backyard ADU and remodeling the property in Vista, CA.
The situation
A contractor was finishing a Vista property with a new backyard ADU and fresh landscaping. Through the build, construction debris and jobsite waste kept piling up, and it had to keep moving so crews could work and the schedule could hold. The contractor set up an on-site debris crib to collect it and needed a reliable partner to empty it on call. Then came the part that decides whether a project closes on time: the final cleanup before the city inspection, where anything left behind can slow the sign-off.
What we did
LWD had been the debris crew on this site from early in the build, coming out on the contractor’s schedule to haul away whatever filled the crib. For the final, we cleared the last of the construction debris, pulled out old concrete from previous fence posts, and worked material down the site’s hill with a dolly and our tuck-under lift-gate dump truck, which loads at ground level and reaches spots a standard rig cannot. Then we made it inspection-clean: swept the entire street, blew down the whole area, and walked the site picking up every nail, a habit carried over from the Marine Corps.
The outcome
The final cleanup took about an hour. We handed the contractor a site ready for the inspector to walk, with the street swept, the ground clear, and the nails gone, on the same day it was needed. Across the project, our recurring hauls kept the jobsite clear so the build never stalled on debris.
Why contractors keep us on the job
Construction runs on the schedule, and debris is what gets in its way. We show up on your timeline, haul on call through the build, and get into tight and sloped sites with a lift-gate truck most haulers do not run. When it is time for the final, we do not just empty the site, we make it inspection-ready down to the nails. Veteran-owned, licensed C-61/D-63, and insured across San Diego County.
